Keysight Agilent HP 8672S

8672S Agilent RF Generator

2 GHz to 18 GHz Signal Generator

The 8672S is a 18 GHz RF Generator from Agilent. An rf generator is a tool engineers use to generate sinusoidal outputs while testing electronic equipment. The output will automatically have its frequency varied or swept between frequencies. A “sweep” is one complete cycle of a frequency variation. Engineers use rf signal generators as test equipment, mostly to measure responses of filters, amplifiers, and electrical components.

Keysight Agilent HP 8672S Features:

  • Programmable from the front-panel or a rear HP-IB connector.
  • Capable of both AM and FM modulation internally.
  • Uses a heterodyne coverage of a standard Keysight Agilent HP 8672A to a lower limit of 10MHz.

As a single 9-inch high package, the Keysight Agilent HP 8672S features 10MHz to 18GHz single-knob continuous frequency tuning, calibrated CW output power, and a modulator allowing high-quality pulse modulation of the entire frequency range. All front-panel controls, with the exception of the line switches, are HP-IB programmable. The Keysight Agilent HP 8672A Synthesized Signal Generator has a frequency range of 2GHz to 18GHz. The RF output is constantly variable from +1 dBm to -120 dBm with an output impedance of 50 ohms. Spectral purity is excellent on this generator and phase-locked loop responses are optimized to allow the Keysight Agilent HP 8672A to exhibit the lowest possible single-sideband phase noise.
