The Consultronics Limited company started as a private firm based in Toronto that specialized in solutions for voice over internet protocol (VoIP), internet protocol TV, and x-digital subscriber line applications. In 2006, the prominent test equipment manufacturer for copper-based broadband access networks, Consultronics Limited, became a part of EXFO, a company that also manufactures test instruments. After this acquisition, EXFO discontinued Consultronics’ products and continued manufacturing test equipment, including noise signal generators and wirelines testers under the EXFO brand name. Luckily, consumers can still purchase used and refurbished Consultronics products at ValueTronics. Purchasing refurbished is more cost-effective than buying new.
