The Agilent 85370A Antenna Positioner Encoder allows manual antenna patterns to be easily measured with the Agilent 8530A microwave receiver using virtually any antenna positioning system. The antenna positioner encoder provides positioner information to the Agilent 8530A microwave receiver. The antenna positioner encode eavesdrops on the synchro lines from the antenna positioner, decodes the synchro signals, and sends the positioning information to the receiver through a general purpose digital interface. When the positioner is manually moved through the desired angles, the receiver measures and displays the antenna pattern. Antenna pattern parameters such as start and stop angles as well as angular sampling increment can be selected by the user from the front panel of the microwave receiver.
