FS315 Rohde & Schwarz Spectrum Analyzer

The FS315 is a 3 GHz Spectrum Analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz. A spectrum analyzer measures the power of spectrums of known and unknown signals. Spectrum analyzers collect information such as the magnitude of an input signal compared to its frequency. As a frequency analyzer, spectrum analyzers’ main use is to document and analyze electrical input signals as well as spectral compositions of other signals.

Additional Features:

  • Frequency range: 9 kHz to 3 GHz
  • Resolution bandwidths: 200 Hz to 20 MHz
  • Sample, max-/ minpeak, average and RMS detector
  • Noise level: typ. -115 dBm (300 Hz RBW)
  • Level uncertainty: <1.5 dB, 0.7dB typ.
  • Maximum input level +33 dBm
  • Various measurement functions like channel power, TDMA-power, occupied bandwidth (OBW), return loss, transmission loss, TOI, frequency counter etc.
  • Tracking generator from 9 kHz to 3 GHz
  • Tracking generator offset range from 0 Hz to 3 GHz
  • USB interface

The R&S FS315 includes a tracking generator and thus expands the field of application to scalar transmission and reflection measurements. A special feature of the tracking generator is the user-selectable frequency offset in the range from 0 Hz to 3 GHz, which makes it possible to perform measurements on frequency-converting DUTs such as a frequency mixer.

For simple applications, the tracking generator can also be used as a CW signal source with a permanently set frequency. In addition, the R&S FS315 can determine electric field strength taking into account the antenna factors.

Altogether up to ten transducer lists can be generated using the provided software. These lists can be combined by means of transducer sets into a cumulative correction factor for a complete measurement system. Such a system may include, for example, an antenna, various cables and additional amplifiers.
