General Radio

General Radio Company, or GenRad, was founded in 1915 by a man named Melville Eastham. GenRad is a manufacturer of automatic test equipment, printed circuit boards, and electrical component measurement equipment. It develops sound and vibration equipment, such as audio analyzers, sound meters, amplifiers, noise generators, and power supplies. General Radio Company soon became a major player in the test equipment industry. Teradyne acquired the brand in 2001 for its line of automatic test equipment. IET Labs Inc. eventually purchased the GenRad product line and continues to manufacture its meters and stroboscopes. ValueTronics sells used and refurbished GenRad products at affordable prices.
